Round Robin Bets – It Just Makes Sense

I was once where you are now. I was feeling lost, confused and alone. Placing bets online sometimes can be just that, confusing. You see, when I where you are right now I knew nothing about Round Robin bets. I had never even heard about the term. But once I got the hang of it, it seemed like nothing could stop me on the way to the top.

Now, my bankroll is looking good and growing by the day, or that’s what I keep telling myself. Placing Round Robin bets was the start of something different for me, something that made me feel more in control. And let me tell you, it works.


What is a Round Robin Bet?

Basically, a Round Robin bet is an easy way of placing multiple parlay wagers all at one time.

In a few simple words:

A Round Robin is another name for parlay bets on a group of selections (at the very least three or more) that need to be included in a combination of individual parlays.

Given that odds are stacked against you when you dabble on multiple team parlays, a round robin bet is one of the greatest choices for a series of bets.

A Round Robin bet can act like a barrier against having to pick every team right in a parlay wager, since one miss is allowed in round-robin betting as all three of the teams you have chosen are paired in twos.


Easy Round Robin Example

Let’s say you ask for a for a $100, three-team Round Robin with teams the Miami Heat, the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs, in reality you are asking for a two-team parlay with Miami and Los Angeles Lakers, another parlay with teams the Heat and San Antonio, and another with teams the Lakers and the Spurs, for a total of 3 individual parlays, each for $100. The total amount you’ve risked would be $300.

Of course, Round Robin bets get more complicated as the number of teams increases. A four-team Round Robin "by twos" for $100 actually means that you would like four teams to be included in a combination of two-team parlays.

This adds up to a total of six individual two-team parlays, for a total risk of $600. If you’re looking to place a Round Robin "by threes", it means it’s a total of four possible combinations, for a risk of $400.

A More Complex Round Robin Bet Example:

You ask for a $100 four team Round Robin "by twos", with teams New York Knicks (team A), Portal Trail Blazers (team B), Dallas Mavericks (team C) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (team D).

These are the possible combinations:

    Teams AB $100 to win $260
    Teams AC $100 to win $260
    Teams AD $100 to win $260
    Teams BC $100 to win $260
    Teams BD $100 to win $260
    Teams CD $100 to win $260

If all four teams come out victorious, you’re bound to win $1240, while only risking a little less that half of that amount, $600.

If one game loses you will still win even while three of the parlays are a loss. The three winners make $780, plus the $100 laid for each parlay, for a total of $1080. After subtracting $300 for the 3 losers you will be winning $480.

Just like in standard parlays, round Robin betting is available for NBA, NFL, NHL, Major League Baseball and major Soccer events.

Time for a pause. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. In order for you to better understand what a Round Robin bet is you need to also understand the concept of a Parlay bet.

At this point, a Round Robin example is a good idea:

Imagine you want to do a three way two team round robin. You like three NFL teams: the Ravens Colts at -7, Bengals Bears at -7 and Lions Packers at +4.

Now, you would like to have your parlays run for $100 each. This is what your Round Robin bet would end up looking like:

    Parlay 1
    Ravens -7
    Bengals -7
    Betting $100 to Profit $260
    Parlay 2
    Ravens -7
    Lions +4
    Betting $100 to Profit $260
    Parlay 3
    Bengals -7
    Lions +4
    Betting $100 to Profit $260

What Does This All Mean?

In the above example you’ll be betting a $300 total for a potential profit of $780.

Now, Why Should You Go for a Round Robin Bet?

Well, if you’re an avid online sports bettor like me, or even if you’re just starting your run in the world of youwager.lv bets, you know that one of the most popular sports bets you can chose id to combine all of your plays into a parlay.

As I previously explained, a parlay bet is actually a group of bets. Imagine there are three games you wanted to place a bet on. Instead of placing a $100 wager on each individual game, you can go ahead and group all three plays together in a single bet that pays out better odds.

However, if one of your teams losses, this means your entire bet is lost. Coming up a game short on a parlay is absolutely heartbreaking; trust me…I’ve been there. It gets even worse when you have a larger number of plays. This is where Round Robin bets come in play.

However, at first you want to go slow. Go simple. Unless you somehow know that your picks are going to win, you want to first start using Round Robin bets on the three possible two-team parlays. By just playing the three two-team parlays, you are going to be risking $300 to win $780. Not too shabby, right?

Even though you’re risking an extra $200 when you place a Round Robin bet on three two-team parlays (in contrast to a $100 on one three-team parlay), you would still come out $60 ahead if you went 2-1 on your three wagers.

This is way better better than losing $100 every time your three-team parlay didn’t cash, don’t you agree?

Why Not Just Make Three Separate Two-Team Parlays?

At this point you might be asking yourself, why the heck don’t I just go for three separate two-team parlays right from the beginning?

In truth, Round Robin bets are just like parlay speed betting online. When you choose the Round Robin route you’re actually fast-forwarding the betting process on parlays.

If you enjoy Saturday night college basketball games, entire NBA seasons, Sunday night football or whatever your cup of tea may be, you know that there are a seemingly endless amount betting options among the point spreads, money lines and team/player props on a great deal of games – you definitely need some help at this point.

It’s not easy to place bets on five two-team parlays on games that all are set to begin at a certain time, even with all of your might. It just gets too hard.

Why would you want to bet those five separately when you can group the five parlays into a single round-robin parlay? It just makes sense!


Tips When Making Round Robin Bets

Round Robin Betting Rules

Take into account that since the bets are turned into 2 or 3 team parlays, the same rules apply as in a regular parlay.
